Methods Of Charging A Tesla EV
Before we go any further, let’s talk about the different types of chargers available for charging a Tesla. There are currently three charging techniques to charge the Tesla models on the market.

NEMA 5-15 Charging Or Level 1 AC Charging
A NEMA 5-15 charger is a type that may be plugged into any regular 120-volt outlet. You can charge your Tesla if there is a regular wall outlet nearby. That being said, 120V is the maximum energy you can feed into your EV. These are ordinary household outlets used to charge your phone, laptop, or any other chargeable item. NEMA 5-15 charger will recharge your range by around 3 miles per hour of charging. This is not the ideal method of charging your Tesla, but you can use it for overnight charging.
NEMA 14-50 Charging Or Level 2 AC Charging
You can buy charging adapters to charge your Tesla using various plugs you may have around the house. Many homes may have 240-volt outlets with the standard 120-volt outlet. These are typically used to power washing machines and dryers. Since it uses a more powerful outlet, Tesla’s NEMA 14-50 adaptor can charge your Tesla faster than the NEMA 5-15 charger. An electrician or technician can quickly come and install this. Compared to Level 1, it’s a matter of a few hours now, not days.
Tesla Wall Connector Charger
The Wall Connector is also available from Tesla. This is a charging device that can be installed in your home. After all, the quickest way to charge your Tesla at home is through a wall hookup. Overall, with a Wall Connector, your Tesla can receive up to 44 miles of range per hour of charging. The most prevalent form of charger seen at third-party, public charging stations is a wall connector charger.
Tesla Supercharger Or DC Fast Charging
Tesla’s Supercharger stations are located around the country, allowing you to take your Tesla on a road trip. These charging stations can only be used with Tesla automobiles. The Tesla Supercharger network is a collection of Tesla-developed and deployed proprietary charging stations. These Level 3 chargers bypass the alternating current (AC) methods described above and connect directly to mainline power. While they demand far more grid power (480+ volts and 100+ amps), their output is genuinely excellent. Currently, the majority of Tesla Superchargers can recharge up to 200 miles of range in about 15 minutes, depending on the charge rate. Which Combination Is Best For Charging A Tesla?
Where superchargers appear to be the greatest alternative, most Tesla owners do not have access to them. A Supercharger costs roughly $25 to charge a Tesla fully. Furthermore, Tesla does not encourage using a supercharger daily. Instead, it should be used when rapid charging is required, such as on extended trips. The suggested home charging solution is the Wall Connector, which offers the most convenience and the fastest charging speeds. Also, the solar panel system is the most cost-effective way to charge a Tesla at home.
